The Lowdown
Want to simplify your life? We’ve done it for you. Montevecchio wines need no long-winded jargonistic descriptions or pain-staking food matching advice. They’re just delicious drinks. All you have to decide is: white, red, pink or sweet?
We grow more kinds of grapes than you could poke a stick at, so instead of challenging your linguistic or memory skills we have simply chosen a mixed bag the best tasting grapes from our Heathcote vineyard, singled them out or thrown them all in together to make a collection of wines that tick all the boxes: School night? Mid-week pizza? BBQ on the deck? Fish and chips? Hot date? Plastic cup on the beach? Look no further. Montevecchio has all the answers.
Montevecchio wines are all about simplicity and fun, but never boring. Grown at our Heathcote vineyard in central Victoria, which is home to over 20 different Italian grape varieties, the name means old mountain referring to the Cambrian origins of the regions famous red soils.
The delicious and approachable Montevecchio wines are inspired by the everyday drinking wines of Italy. The streamlined range including a bianco, rosato, rosso and moscato are fresh and vibrant, designed to be enjoyed in their youth. The blends may change from vintage to vintage but the vibe stays the same.

Vino
Montevecchio Bianco is a field blend made from hand harvested grapes. The fruit is whole bunch pressed and co-fermented with wild yeast in stainless steel tank for a bright, pure and vibrant wine with fresh fruity aromas, zest and pith, dry and a touch of morish texture.
The make-up changes from vintage to vintage but it’ll likely see varieties such as Vermentino, Ribolla Gialla, Pecorino, Falanghina, and many more…
Always Vegan Friendly
Montevecchio Rosso is a co-fermented field blend made from a collection of loveable, red Italian varieties. Like its white counterpart, the make-up will vary from vintage to vintage, choosing varieties like Lagrein, Nero d’Avola, Sagrantino, Schioppettino, Pavana and many more, that’ve performed well within the season to create a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Stylistically the wine stays true, with aromas of vibrant berries, red, blue and/or purple fruits, a savoury edge showing a sense of place, balanced perfectly with refreshing bright acidity. This light to medium-bodied wine has plenty of supple fruit, soft tannins and is designed to be enjoyed young.
Always Vegan Friendly
Montevecchio Moscato Frizzante is made from 100% Moscato Giallo, a cultivar of Moscato originating from north-eastern Italy which was chosen for its quality factors showing intensely perfumed florals, and its elegance and intensity in the mouth. Moscato Giallo was imported into Australia by the Chalmers family in the late 1990s.
This refreshing, light and fruity wine has just a hint of spritz, allowing the bright sherbet, elderflower and honeysuckle flavours of the Moscato Giallo grape to take centre stage. It balances alcohol of just 5.5%, acidity and sweetness perfectly in a style reminiscent of the great wines of Asti.
